I’m an artist whose work explores nature, imagination and the quieter details of the world around me. Living on the coast, surrounded by ocean, mountains and shifting coastal light, I’m continually inspired by the calm, beauty and mystery of the natural landscape.
Much of my inspiration comes from time spent in and around nature. I find my creative rhythm while snorkelling the coastline or paddling quiet estuaries. These experiences often find their way into my oil paintings through atmospheric light, soft realism and a strong sense of place.
My Japanese sumi-e ink work takes a quieter approach, exploring movement, simplicity and spirit. I’m drawn to details, objects and moments that catch my attention, often influenced by coastal culture and my long practice of Okinawan Fighting Arts.
My more surreal pieces give me space to explore imagination and wonder, weaving dreamlike elements with coastal themes.
I’ve exhibited in local galleries including Noosa Regional Gallery and the Brisbane Institute of Art, as well as internationally at the Tokyo National Museum. My original artworks and prints are also represented in galleries on the Sunshine Coast.
Today, I continue to explore the relationship between nature, place and imagination, creating work that reflects the things that interest and inspire me. Sometimes it’s a particular light or fleeting moment, sometimes an object with a story, and sometimes simply something I find beautiful.
